Another White Event...

This year, I lost 2 people in 2 months continuosly. On October, I lost my cousin sister, Cherry, and on November, I lost my mother's side grandmother...Actually, all of us were well-prepared to face her death because she suffered from Alzimer's disease for about 3 years and there was a very huge cancer tumuor in her cervical. She can't eat and drink and this tumuor made her kept on vomitting a kind of smelly liquid.

On 11/11/2008, she left us...Actually, she accepted Jesus before she had Alzimer's but my family and I don't have the proof because she was not baptised yet. So, my uncle and aunt did a Buddhist funeral service for her. If we follow the chinese tradition, the child of the desease have to wear clothes for it. So, my mother and her brother nd sister wore clothes for my grandmother. During that period, one of my grandmother's eyes just won't close. We tried to close it, even I tried it myself, but it just won't close. Later, a pastor came to sing 2 songs and said a simple prayer. Then, miracle happened. Her eye closed tightly when my mom touched it! my grandfther, who stood beside and watched everything decided to baptise on this Christmas...Hallelujah!!! I don't know whether you believe it or not, but I'm very sure this is the sign my grandmother gave us that she is with God in a place where there has no pain, no tears and no sorrows----heaven.

Bio Practical: soil analysis & quadrat sampling

This year end so called holiday of mine is full with extra classes, practicals and tuitions. I still have to go to school and to tuition just like normal days.....=.= Well, the first day of my bio practical, we (me, see ying, yun yih, mei yee and violet) did the soil analysis of 3 types os soil which were sand, clay and soil. This is our sample...

Then, we test on the pH value of our soils.



The colour for soil was like the green tea colour for the first day, but dunno what happened, it became yellow color the next morning...Then, we supposed to heat our soils in the oven for 24 hours with a temperature at 110 degree celcius. So, the next day we went to collect our soils from the oven, but the petri dishes were cold, and the temperature indicated was 29 degree celcius...You know what? It's because the brilliant teacher didn't adjust the temperature...BOOM!!! One day wasted....

Later on, we test on the water content of our soils, and these were our sample...

After that, we heat our soils for an hour to dry it and this step really took us a long time to complete...Then, we have to see the microorganisms and insects present in our soils through a microscope. Well, we found amoeba and many weird weird things which we duno whether is it a microorganism in my organic soil hehehehe....Below is the funnel we used for aquatic microorganisms. The water just won't stop leaking and we have to fix it for the school lab...=.=

As for quadrat sampling, we went to Taman Rakyat to complete the task. We found a strategic place where we found more than 10 plants, but there got a lot of big big red ants too...Well, al last we managed to complete counting in 2 hours hehehe...

Bio Practical

Today is a very exhausting day. I did 2 practicals in a day. In the morning, I did m bio practical. When I threw the cotton wool with chloroform into the container, the housefly won't die. Then, I put another cotton wool with chloroform which was bigger. Finally, it died. But, later I found out it was not dead yet. It's still moving although I've pinned it! My cricket, a large one, the eggs were all over the abdomen! I just can't finish removing those eggs!

After I took them out from the oven, my housefly broke into half.. T.T ... I used UHU glue to glue it back... hahahahaha

This is my moss, soaked it in FAA solution which I don't know what solution is it....
